Studio City is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. It is located adjacent to the city of Los Angeles and is part of the North Hollywood census-designated place. The district was developed beginning in the 1930s as one of the largest and most affluent neighborhoods in the country. It became well known for its' many movie studios, which provided work for hundreds of thousands of actors and crew members during the golden age of Hollywood.

The name Studio City was taken from a studio lot that was originally called Union Station. The area began to develop after World War II when several major film studios relocated to the area. These companies included RKO Pictures, MGM Studios, Columbia Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Studios. Many stars such as Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, Clark Gable, Bette Davis, and Joan Crawford worked at these studios.

In addition to working in movies, Studio City became well known for its' laid-back atmosphere and high quality of life. Today, it is still an extremely popular neighborhood with a large population of young professionals and families. There are several restaurants and stores located in the district that cater to this demographic.

Studio City Center is a shopping and entertainment district in Studio City, Los Angeles. It is located at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Melrose Avenue. The district includes the popular Hollywood & Highland Center, which houses multiple theaters, a convention center, and a music hall. It also includes the L.A. Live complex, which hosts museums and performing venues such as the Kodak Theatre and Nokia Theatre.
